About Us
Tea has a long history of bringing people together. In Japanese tea tradition, tea gatherings were a meeting ground for people from different walks of life- warriors, merchants, artists and scholars- where conversation, hospitality and the appreciation of objects could take place around a bowl of tea.
Drinking tea creates a moment apart from the pace of everyday life.
We are drawn to this idea of tea as a space between worlds.
A place to pause. To look closer. To spend time with others.
The Space
Our atelier occupies the second level of a heritage shophouse in Kampong Gelam, where natural light, aged materials and collected objects create the setting for tea and conversation.
The space is not designed as a traditional tea house. Instead, it reflects the meeting of the founder’s two practices- tea and art.
Antique tea vessels sit alongside contemporary works, found objects and pieces gathered over time. Some carry stories of their makers; others simply have a beauty that comes with age and use.
We believe the objects around tea matter. A cup, a teapot, a tea boat can change the way we perceive what is in the cup.
The Tea
Our teas are gathered through years of travelling, tasting and building relationships with tea farmers, makers, collectors and old tea shops across China and beyond.
We look for teas with a sense of place- the character of a mountain, the expression of a cultivar, the hands that shaped it, and the passage of time.

Tea practitioner · Artist · Founder of Atelier Cherub
Tiffany’s relationship with tea began not with a plan to become a tea practitioner, but with a growing curiosity about the worlds held within a cup.
With an earlier background in coffee, design and art, she found herself drawn to tea for its intersection of history, craft, culture, and landscape.
Since then, tea has taken her across China, Hong Kong and Taiwan- to tea mountains, old tea shops, makers and collectors- deepening an interest in the people and places behind each leaf.
Her approach to tea is shaped as much by her practice as an artist as it is by her study of tea.
She is interested in the details like the character of a particular mountain, the changing aroma as a tea cools, the way water meets a leaf, or how an old vessel alters the experience.
At Atelier Cherub, Tiffany hosts each gathering personally.
Rather than presenting tea as something to be mastered, she hopes to create a space where guests can slow down, become curious, and develop their own way of tasting.
There is always more to discover in a cup of tea.

Every brewing is slightly different.
The water, the vessel, the temperature, the leaves, and most importantly, the people sitting around the table- are never quite the same twice.
This is part of what makes tea meaningful to us.
You may arrive knowing very little about tea. You may already have spent years drinking it.
Either way, there is always another mountain, another season, another maker, another leaf to discover.
And another moment to share.
